TOM BRENNAN is looking to end the Great Britain season “on a high” in the FIME European Pairs Championship Final.

The battling Swindon-born star joins Adam Ellis and Jordan Jenkins (subject to a late fitness test) in Opole, Poland for the final national event of the campaign.

Brennan, 22, is determined for GB to deliver a big performance after a challenging few months.

He said: “It still hurts a bit that we missed out on Gold in the World Cup in the last race, but you have to move forward and not look back. The best way to deal with defeat is to learn and win next time.

“It’s going to be a tough ask in Opole. Poland have won a clean sweep of every event this year and they will be favourites on home shale, but we need to go there with an open mind and if we ride to our potential and ability, we can achieve a positive result. We want to finish the season on a high.

“Opole is Adam’s home track in Poland and he’s been flying out there, so hopefully he can go well. It’s then up to Jordan and I to give him the right back up.”

Brennan believes that he is still grabbing so much experience from the GB international events.

He added: “It’s no secret that my career sort of turned around after I scored 20 points for GB in Bydgoszcz a couple of years ago. Just a few weeks later I got a Gold in the Speedway of Nations.

“That’s been such a springboard for me. I’ve now got a World Cup Silver and Speedway of Nations Under-21 Bronze.

“I want more obviously. But I feel like I’m learning in every international meeting. If I can win some more medals along the way, that would be awesome.”
