GB HEAD FOR GERMANY
Great Britain’s Under-24 team race in Ludwigslust this Saturday evening, a town in northern Germany situated 120km east of Hamburg.

An extremely competitive encounter is anticipated against last year’s Silver medalists Czech Republic who track current SGP rider Jan Kvech, a strong Danish team that secured Bronze in 2024 plus the host nation Germany in familiar surroundings.
Both of GB’s SGP2 riders Dan Thompson and Jake Mulford have been selected with Mulford making his team debut for Great Britain. Leon Flint makes his return from injury after receiving treatment from the Glasgow Warriors Rugby team’s medical department and hyperbaric chamber therapy in Edinburgh all whilst being in close consultation with GB’s Physiotherapist Steve Williams.
Double British Under-21 Champion Sam Hagon makes his second appearance for GB after making his debut in last seasons SON2 Final in Manchester and Drew Kemp is recalled for the first time since 2023 where he represented Great Britain in Riga, Latvia in the SON2 Final.
Under-24 GB captain Tom Brennan was expected to lead the team in this year's competition, however, he has been named as a series wild card for the Speedway European Championship (SEC) Finals so misses out due a date clash with SEC round 1 in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
Rob Painter, Great Britain Managing Director commented, “We knew we would be losing Tom at this event if he received a SEC wildcard, we are all really pleased that he has secured this opportunity to gain another new experience as he continues to climb the Speedway ladder,’ Painter continued, ‘Tom’s absence offers a very deserving opportunity for Leon to captain GB, he had an excellent season with us last year which included winning a Bronze medal at the FIME European Pairs Final in Lonigo, Italy and I have no doubt that Leon will do an excellent job.’
