Kerr excited about GB future.

Lewis Kerr says the sky is the limit for him and Great Britain. With one senior appearance under his belt, the Norfolk-based racer has set his sights on reaching the top with his country.

“I am extremely excited to be involved with Great Britain going forward with the pool of riders we have,” said Kerr. “I’m hoping that we can have some test matches so I can get involved with them as I want to go as high as I can representing my country.

“It is difficult with having so many riders to choose from including Tai (Woffinden) and Robert (Lambert), but like I say, I just want to get as high as I can and being involved with Great Britain is perfect for me.

“I think the test match format is brilliant. The Global Challenge meeting I did at King’s Lynn with the effort the team put in was great and you could see how professional it was. Going forward I think we’re hoping to have more test matches which will be good

“It is also great how everything is all linked together from the Academy, Under-21’s and the Senior squad. We have a stepping stone system now so in a few years or whenever the younger lads will get an opportunity so they can progress through the GB ranks.

“We have got a bright future and all the boys are really working hard knowing what they have to do so it is really looking good. What we have got now is obviously going to take time to develop but Great Britain are doing everything right which is what we want.”
